Thanks to all the companies who sent materials in! We'll be following up with applicants over the next few weeks, and will be announcing the selected company or companies in October.

SmartVentures is a new program designed to provide an alternative path to scale for startups. The SmartVentures program will provide selected companies with $400K of product development and mentorship to help them take their product to scale.

Who should apply?

Strong candidates for the SmartVentures program are teams for whom product development and engineering is the most important next step; companies should be past initial market validation and prototyping, ready to grow beyond an MVP.

Applicants must be US-based corporations, with full-time team members and market validation in the form of revenue or user adoption, and must be located in or be willing to relocate to Baltimore City.

Have a question or not sure if you're a good fit? Send an email to Margaret and Yair, they're happy to discuss any questions you might have.

What to Expect

Applications will be accepted June 10th through August 15th 2019, with reviews taking place on a rolling basis starting on June 30th. The selection committee will review finalists through a series of phone and in-person interviews. Companies selected for the first round of the SmartVentures program will be announced no later than October 2019.

The program timeline

The program will run as a 6-18 month intensive partnership with the selected company/companies, with a goal of getting the company/companies to their next big growth benchmark, such as hiring a full-time tech team or raising a new round of funding.

For more information, see the program FAQ and Terms & Conditions.
